Jack Dorsey, the founder and CEO of Twitter and one of the world’s mostrecognized tech-entrepreneurs, expects bitcoin to become the single globalcurrency within the next decade, he told the The Times newspaper.

In ten years, Jack Dorsey believes the world

to have one single global currency – but that it could go even faster. “The world ultimately will have a single currency, the internet will have a single currency. I personally believe that it will be bitcoin,” Dorsey said.
In spite of conceding that bitcoin “does not have the capabilities right now to become an effective currency,” Dorsey thinks it will grow into a better one and be used for everyday things, as improvements to the core technology roll out.
”There are newer technologies that build off of blockchain and make it more approachable,” Dorsey told The Times.
Dorsey has been a popular figure in cryptocurrency circles since he recently invested in the start-up Lightning Labs, which is developing technology to make Bitcoin faster and easier to use. He also added support for Bitcoin transactions in his mobile payment company Square. According to The Times, he’s personally invested in the cryptocurrency.
