Pink is the new orange!
2024-03-08
In celebration of International Women's Day and to foster greater inclusion of women in Bitcoin, BTCX, Sweden’s first Bitcoin exchange, is taking a step in the right direction to also be the first to redefine what Bitcoin truly symbolizes: financial inclusion and justice.
Today, globally, 1.7 billion people lack access to a financial substitute. The World Bank identifies financial inclusion as an enabler for 7 of their 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The G20 has also committed to promoting financial inclusion worldwide and believes that this can be implemented through digital financial inclusion.
Why are we rebranding?
We have decided to do a rebranding of our brand with a new color-profile and vision. Starting from March 8th, in conjunction with International Women's Day, BTCX will transition from our traditional orange color to a new, vibrant pink. This step is not just a visual change, but also a part of our broader commitment to financial integration, justice, and promoting the role of women within Bitcoin.
From Orange to Pink: A Symbol of Change
By shifting from the traditional "Bitcoin-orange" to pink, we challenge the prevailing norms within the crypto sector. We strongly believe that it's time for Bitcoin to be associated with freedom and justice, rather than just its technical aspects.
Our choice of pink is deeply symbolic. By choosing this color, we want to send a clear message that BTCX stands for equality and promotes a more inclusive financial world. Women around the world have historically had limited access to the traditional financial system. Bitcoin and blockchain technology offer a unique opportunity to change this. By using decentralized and secure financial tools, women worldwide can gain increased control over their financial lives. Our new color symbolism is a tribute to and support for this important change. We will integrate this vision into everything we do - from user experience on our platform to our educational initiatives and partnerships.
Our Vision
Our rebranding is more than just an external change. It is part of our vision to create a more equal and accessible financial future. We aim to:
Engage more women in Bitcoin and financial justice.
Collaborate with organizations that promote women's participation in technology and finance.
Educate and raise awareness about Bitcoin's potential to improve economic freedom and independence.
Through this rebranding, we want to change not just how the world sees BTCX, but also how the world sees and uses Bitcoin. It is a step towards a future where financial resources are accessible to all, regardless of gender.
