Ethereum upgrade

The upgrade to Ethereum 2.0 (mainnet merge) starts some time September 14-15. The network will switch to PoS (proof-of-stake) from the previous PoW (proof-of-work). This is done to greatly reduce energy consumption and make Ethereum more efficient and scalable.

On September 13th BTCX will pause the service to purchase ETH until the upgrade is completed and the network is stable again. You can continue buying bitcoin from us just as usual during this period.
